Unlocking Graphene’s full potential.

GtechPlasma - Graphene Tecnologies

NATO SPS Photo Contest, 2nd place in 'Technology in Action' category Project 'Advanced Electromagnetic Graphene-based Shields via Plasma Induced Synthesis' (AEGIS)

We produce a 99% purity graphene ready to be incorporated into our clients’ products using an innovative, scalable, versatile plasma technology.

Most commercial Graphene is just expensive pencil lead

  • The lack of high-quality graphene derivatives has hindered the development of graphene-based technologies.

  • We produce customised high-quality graphene-based materials with enhanced properties using an innovative, versatile, cost-effective and environmentally friendly plasma technology.

About GTechPlasma

GTechPlasma was created as a spinoff of IST from a simple but ambitious idea:

Graphene can only fulfil its potential when it is produced with the quality, consistency and flexibility required by real-world applications. Many commercial materials still fall short in purity and reproducibility, limiting their use in demanding industries. Our team set out to solve that challenge through plasma science.

Built on years of research in plasma physics and advanced materials in the labs of the university, GTechPlasma has developed a patented, single-step production platform capable of creating customised graphene-based materials with up to 99% purity. Our process is designed to avoid catalysts, harsh chemicals, vacuum and high-pressure conditions, while allowing material properties to be tailored for specific customer requirements.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together experienced plasma and materials physicists, engineering specialists, technology-transfer professionals and business specialist. The technology is supported by an international intellectual-property portfolio covering production equipment, processes and nanocomposite routes across Portugal, Europe, the United States and Japan.

Today, we work with partners to develop graphene solutions for both civilian and defence markets. Our focus includes conductive inks, coatings, sensors, membranes, energy storage, hydrogen technologies, advanced composites and electromagnetic shielding. By combining scientific expertise with application-led development, we help organisations move from material discovery to testing, qualification and industrial integration.

GTechPlasma is not simply producing graphene. We are building a platform for the next generation of high-performance, dual-use materials.
